Mobile & dynamic racking
In warehouses where space for storing products is limited, mobile racking can nevertheless increase storage capacity many times over.
Mobile racking is a shelving system that is mounted on a so-called mobile carriage or chassis. This steel substructure has enormous load-bearing capacity and moves on rails embedded in the floor. Each row of racking is firmly connected to a mobile carriage.
All racking rows can be moved and pushed together completely. This means that only one racking aisle is open at a time, namely the one where goods are to be stored and retrieved.
Moving or shifting the racks is done electronically. In front of each transfer carriage there is a switch which, at the push of a button, sets the transfer carriages and thus the racks in motion. The start-up is so gentle that the racks do not vibrate, even at great heights. Mobile racking is classically used in archives. However, this compact storage method is found more and more often in various industries where a large number of goods with different dimensions and variants have to be stored. Another use of mobile racking is the storage of precious metals. When the shelving block is pushed together, direct access to the stored goods is no longer possible. Today, mobile racking is used in the aluminium industry or in the storage rooms of opera houses and theatres, where complete sets can be stored in a space-saving manner.
Features of mobile racking:
- Highly compact storage system with up to 100% more storage capacity
- Smooth electronic drive for quiet running of the racks
- Safety devices and personal protection systems in the aisles
- Can also be retrofitted to existing conventional cantilever racking systems
